That Was The Week That Was — 7th June 2020
The notebook I ordered from Armorial arrived and it was very disappointing. The finish of the binding was very badly done, and in the corner was a very tacky metal letter 'A', something that was not shown on the website. In future I'll be sticking to Smythson for my pocket notebook needs.
Whilst I continued to work on this new web based client work, I did some new experiments in Houdini, using a SOP solver as well as using their soft body simulation system called Vellum.
I also did some more stuff with Mops, exploring the mesh follow node to create some interesting effects which may come in handy later. The creator of Mops pointed out the reason for the jittering in one of the compositions was because I had the Blend to Orientation factor set to high.
Using Curl noise often brings nice results.
The next book on my reading list arrived — Raymond Chandler's The Big Sleep. Chandler was king of the one liner and this in particular is rather wonderful:
Neither of the two people in the room paid any attention to the way I came in, although only one of them was dead.
